New Faculty

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Western University would like to announce the arrival of two new Otolaryngology staff: Dr. Leigh Sowerby, with a sub-specialty interest in Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery and Dr. Danielle MacNeil, with a sub-specialty interest in Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstruction.

Rhinology and Sino-nasal disorders Anterior skull base surgery

Dr. Leigh Sowerby graduated from medical school at the University of Calgary in 2006 and from residency at the University of Western Ontario in 2011. He completed further sub- specialty training in Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery at the University of Alberta and was subsequently recruited back to London to help treat the large volume of rhinosinusitis patients. Dr. Sowerby’s area of interest and expertise is in nasal obstruction and nasal reconstruction (septorhinoplasty), sinusitis and sinonasal disorders, sleep apnea surgery and anterior skull base surgery.

Dr. Danielle MacNeil

Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstruction

Dr. Danielle MacNeil graduated from medical school at Dalhousie University in 2006 and from residency at the University of British Columbia in 2011. She completed further sub- specialty training in Head and Neck Oncology, Endocrine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Alberta and was subsequently recruited to London. Dr. MacNeil’s area of interest and expertise is in head and neck oncology, thyroid and parathyroid disease, reconstructive microsurgery of the head and neck and salivary gland surgery.
